My professional career in custom software development began in 1995 and I’ve been using Ruby on Rails as long as the framework has existed. While at ThoughtWorks, the industrial bakery management Rails app I wrote for John Deere in the summer of 2005 was one of the first paid “enterprise” Rails apps in the world ever delivered by a consultant.
Somewhat incredibly, that was almost 15 years already, and since then I have served as one of the top evangelists for Ruby on Rails adoption around the globe. In addition to the actual programming I’ve done, I’m also the author of The Rails Way series (currently on its fifth edition). I probably know more about delivering bulletproof production software using Ruby on Rails than almost anyone else in the world apart from DHH, the creator of Rails.
One of the results of this experience is that I’ve been sought out by many people for a specialized service that I’m very good at: Audits for Ruby on Rails-based applications.
